It all started when...

Artistic Director Cynthia Vaughn relocated from Colorado in 2014 to join her husband in Tri-Cities, Washington.  Cynthia has sung and acted professionally across the country in Denver, San Francisco, Chicago, Cincinnati, and New York in opera, concerts, and music theater.  She was on the voice faculty of Colorado State University (1999-2008) and founded Magnolia Music Studio-Old Town in Fort Collins, CO in 2008. She was the original program coordinator and artist contractor for Opera Fort Collins Guild's "Arias@Avos", casual classical concerts at a popular downtown restaurant and music venue, Avogadro's Number.

In Washington, Cynthia quickly realized that there is a wealth of professional caliber vocal talent on the "East Side",  but far fewer performing opportunities than in Seattle and Portland. So, after establishing her new teaching studio (Magnolia Music Studio-RiverWalk)  in Richland WA, she wanted to create a channel for regional classical and crossover artists to perform professionally in local venues. The success of "Arias@Avos" and the nationally syndicated "Opera On Tap" inspired Cynthia to create "Opera On The Vine",  pop-up concerts in unexpected venues, including  wineries, breweries, corporate events, house concerts, and more.

Where will Opera On The Vine pop up? The possibilities are endless! We'll post a calendar on this website and updates on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram so that you can keep up with us. This is opera for everyone! Nothing fancy or snobby, just beautiful singing, fun people, and engaging story-telling. Honest!

Thanks, Fuse SPC! A special shout out to Erik Ralston and our friends at Fuse LAUNCH University, who helped Cynthia get this project off the ground with their "30 days from idea to launch" course.

UPDATE 8/1! Thank you, Tri-Cities! Our debut pop-up concert on Sunday, April 23 was a huge success. Opera@TheEmerald was sold-out! "The Emerald" is a popular rock/jazz venue owned by musician Dara Quinn in Richland that hosts local and national bands, and now opera, too. We also had two sold-out concerts in June at Hightower Cellars and The Emerald. In July, Opera On The Vine popped up at the Miss Tri-Cities Pageant, a fundraiser at The Reach Museum, and Art In The Park. Tickets are available now for August 12 and August 20 concerts.
